East Greenwich scored two runs in the top of the tenth inning and Dan Prior closed the door with three strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings of relief for the 5-3 victory over Bears of Stonington.
The Avengers, won their third straight game, raised their record in extra inning games this year to 2 – 1.
Dan Prior, who earned the win, went 2/4 with a triple and two rbi’s.
Josh Land, who started for the Avengers and threw 8 2/3 innings, gave up just three runs on six hits. In addition, Land drove in the game winning run with a single in the top of the tenth inning.
Stonington, who had come into the game outscoring their opponents 56-1 in seven games this year, dropped to 7-1.
West Warwick upends Slocum Baseball, 12-1!
Led by a seven-run first inning, West Warwick coasted to a 12-1 win over Slocum Baseball.
The Black and Orange had a quartet of pitchers combine to allow just one run on six hits.
Starter Alex Pedus struck out five batters in two innings of work while Mason Provoyeur and Colby Knott pitched four innings of three-hit ball.
Sam Corrado (pictured), who had a two-run single in the first inning, struck out three and allowed two infield hits in the seventh inning.
Slocum received two hit each from Sean Farrell (2/3, three stolen bases) and Andrew Coyne (2/2, one walk).
Offensively, West Warwick received multiple hit games from Colby Knott (2/3, two runs scored and one rbi), Kyle Kortick (2/4, one double, onr run scored and one rbi) and Mason Provoyeur (2/3, one run scored and one rbi).

Cranston Bulldogs outlasted Scituate 10-5 at Manning Field Wednesday night.
Led by the superb play of second baseman Zack Cole, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-0 lead and held off Scituate to win their eighth game of the year.
